PGP Admission 2017 (Foreign Nationals/NRI/PIO)
 

Introduction

Indian Institute of Management Raipur is one among the IIM family of management schools established in 2010 by Government of India with the support of Chhattisgarh State Government. The institute was chosen to be set up in Raipur to give an impetus to management education in central India and has ever since been acting as the pioneer in the field of management, interfacing with the industry, government sectors and PSUs.

The Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management at IIM Raipur is a two- year, fulltime, residential programme. The programme aims to groom participants/students into competent professional managers with:

  • A capacity to learn and adapt to national and international environment;
  • An orientation towards achieving excellence, maintaining high ethical standards; and
  • A capacity to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and in groups.
The PGP is spread over two years, each year consisting of three terms. After first year all the participants/students spends eight weeks on a summer internship in a business organisation. The academic year begins in June/July and ends in March/April of the following year.

This document summarizes the approach of IIM Raipur to prepare the admission list for its 8th PGP batch (2017-19). IIM Raipur reserves the right to modify any part of this document including the various criteria and cut-offs mentioned at any time till the actual admission process for the batch is completed.

The basic objective of IIM Raipur’s admission process is to identify meritorious candidates for admission under Foreign Nationals/NRI/PIO of admission.
 
Foreign national or International Student at IIM Raipur
Candidates holding passports issued by foreign countries including people of Indian origin who have acquired the nationality of foreign countries are included as foreign students. Those candidates holding non-Indian passport and graduated from outside India are eligible to apply for IIM Raipur under Foreign National Category and also need to satisfy the minimum educational qualifications.

Note: Entry-level status of International students on entry to the country will be maintained.

Validity of GMAT and TOEFL Scores:
The candidate must have appeared during January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016

In addition to the above, only those students who have qualified from foreign Universities or Boards of Higher Education, recognized as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are eligible for admission. The candidate has to submit equivalence certificate.
 
Admission Procedure
The step-wise procedure for admission is given below:
 

Step 1: A foreign national, seeking admission to two year PGP of IIM Raipur need to fulfill eligibility criteria as prescribed above and apply for admission in the prescribed application form. The last date for receipt of complete application documents is Feb 29, 2017 for the programme commencing in June/ July, 2017.

Candidates can apply to our programme as instructed below:

Download the International application form. Take a print out of this application form and send the completed application by post along with the requisite documents listed below. The application packet must include copies of the following documents:

 Completed Application Form
 A copy of the latest GMAT/TOFEL scores duly attested (original to be verified at the time of admission, if selected).
 A copy of the latest CAT score duly attested (original to be verified at the time of admission, if selected), only in case of NRI and PIO.
 Three letters of recommendation from a competent authority (Teacher/Employer).  A Statement of Purpose
 Attested photocopy of Passport
 A non-refundable application-processing fee of US $ 200 (Demand Draft drawn in favor of Indian Institute of Management, Raipur and payable at Raipur, India)
 Mark sheets of Bachelor Degree and Qualifying Degree Certificate

Step 2
: The Admissions Office will process the eligible applications and inform the candidates who are short- listed to appear for interview (if required). An interview call letter along with the interview form will be send to the short listed candidates. The interview may be conducted over telephone or by video conferencing mode.

Step 3: Get the provisional admission letter from the Admissions Office, in order to obtain the VISA. Letter required for VISA will also be sent along with Admission Offer.

Step 4: Show the Admission offer and recommendation letter meant for VIS to the Indian Embassy in the respective country and get a student visa endorsed to institution.

Step 5: Report to the institution for admission. Fill the programme registration form and submit it with the following documents (in original along with a photocopy duly attested):

a. Degree/ Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination, which includes SSC, HSC and Bachelor’s Degree.
b. Mark sheets of qualifying examination.
c. Student visa in original.
d. A photocopy of their passport.
e. Equivalence and eligibility certificate from Association of Indian Universities wherever applicable.
f. Duly filled and signed declaration forms – Parent and Student
g. Recent passport size photographs – 4 Nos.

Note: The original certificates will be returned to the students immediately after making an endorsement to this effect and due verification of the same.

Step 6: Medical Examination: Undergo the medical examination and get the medical fitness certificate. As per Government of India (I) rules all international students entering India on student visa have to be tested for HIV and will not be given admission if found to be positive. All international students will be required to pay medical fees of US $ 50, which includes the medical insurance cover for the first year. For second year, the medical insurance fees will be same as for other Indian students and is included in other fees.

Step 7: Admission of international students will be confirmed only after verification of original certificates, medical fitness test and payment of required fees.

Step 8: Within a week of arrival in India register their names with the police in the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the local Police.
 

Programme (Tuition) Fee and Payment Schedule
The After getting provisional admission, the student should get the student VISA and complete all other requirements including fee payment and student should report at the Institute for registration on July 1, 2015. Subsequently the candidate needs to pay the requisite fee as per the following schedule in Indian Rupees. The amount shown in US$ is equivalent one.

Each candidate needs to pay an application processing fee of US$ 200 (US Dollar two hundred only), otherwise their application will not be considered for admission. The programme (Tuition) fee include cost of academic material, access to library, computer lab and sports facilities and does not include medical expenses. Students are advised to subscribe a suitable medical insurance.
 
Discipline

The international students will abide by all the rules and regulations of the programme set by PGP of IIM Raipur and the code of conduct as applicable to Indian students doing same courses. The above rules will be applicable international students of the PGP at IIM Raipur. In addition to these rules, the rules that are applicable for regular PGP students will also be applicable and the same will be given at the time of registration to the programme. In case of any differences on the interpretation of these rules and regulations then the opinion of Institute authorities will be final. The fees are liable to revision and students will have to pay the revised fees when applicable. On the points not specifically covered, the decision of the Institution authorities will be final and binding.
