Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

 

1. What is FPM?
FPM stands for Fellow Programme in Management.

2. What is the eligibility condition for admission?
A candidate looking for admission into FPM should have:


Master’s degree in any discipline, with at least 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade point average

Or

Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average.

Or

Five year/four year Integrated Masters degree programme in any discipline, with at least 60 percent marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Or

4 years/8 semester bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. Engg.) with at least 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade point average

Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30th June, 2018.

*The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/ institution. If any University/institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.

3. Who should apply? 
The IIM Raipur invites applications from high quality candidates with strong academic background, preferably with professional experience, and intellectual curiosity requires for scholarship in management. 

4. Do I have to take CAT for getting admission into FPM?
If you do not have a CAT score, then you must have a valid score of GMAT/GATE/GRE/UGC-JRF with appropriate discipline.

5. How do I apply? 
Download the application form from our website. Fill in the application form and send it by speed post to FPM office along with all your relevant certificates and a demand draft of Rs 1000 (Rs 500 in case of NC-OBC, SC, ST and DAP) in favour of Indian Institute of Management Raipur. 

6. What is the process of admission to the programme? 
If you are short listed based on your standard test score, you will be called for the interview to be held at Raipur. Admission is subject to the recommendation of the interview panel.

7. Can I apply in more than one Area?
Yes, a candidate can apply in two areas with separate application and required fee. 

8. Is the FPM at IIM Raipur very difficult? 
The Institute expects high academic rigor and integrity. It has stringent requirements at every stage of the programme. The candidates who are unable to meet the requirements are asked to resign from the programme. 
 

9. Is waiver from first year courses is available to those who have an MBA/PGP degree?
Candidates who have already have two-year full-time PGP completed in last 10 years from IIMs with minimum grade point equivalent to 6.0 out of 10-point scale or equivalent (with no ‘F’s and not more than two ‘D’s in the first year of PGP) are exempted from the test score, and can apply directly. It is necessary that candidates applying for exemption from test must attach copies of both side of the grade sheet to ascertain the equivalence between the grading systems of other IIMs, without which, the application for exemption from test will not be considered.

10. How do I choose my research topic?
FPM students can choose research topic of their interest and motivation under the supervision of a suitable guide interested in the area and a Thesis Advisory Committee with whom they must work towards their thesis. 

11. What support is available for presenting research papers in Indian and international conferences?
FPM participants are encouraged to present papers, which have been submitted to and accepted at professional conferences. IIM Raipur provides 1,50,000 financial support during the programme. 

12. What is expected from FPM students?
FPM students are required to do research work and publish quality research paper of international standard. 

13. How much time it takes to complete FPM?
It usually takes 4-4.5 years to finish the course. The maximum duration within which a candidate is supposed to complete the degree is seven years. 

14. What's the degree/title that I get at the completion of the course?
On successful completion of all requirements of the programme, the participant is conferred the title "Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management Raipur" at the annual convocation of the Institute. 

15. How do I sustain with my family for these four/five years?
IIM Raipur provides one of the best financial packages for doctoral students. Students will be provided Rs 30,000/ pm as stipend for first and second year and Rs. 35,000 for third and fourth year. 

16. Do FPM students get any other financial support to meet academic expenses?
Yes, IIM Raipur provide contingency grant of Rs.40, 000 per annum & one-time grant of Rs.50, 000 to purchase a PC/Laptop. 

17. Do FPM students get accommodation in hostel?
FPM is a fully residential programme and the participants are required to stay in the hostel.

18. What is the last date for submitting the application?
The last date for submitting the application is 28 February 2018.
