Travel Details:-

Railways: Raipur is well connected with other parts of India by all means of transportation . It is situated on the Howrah-Nagpur-Mumbai line of the Indian Railways (via Bhusawal, Nagpur, Bilaspur, Kharagpur) and is well connected with almost all major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kota, Ahmedabad, Jaipur e.t.c.A branch line from Raipur to Vizianagaram via Titlagarh originates from here. Also there is a narrow gauge line connecting Raipur to Rajim and Dhamtari via Abhanpur. This narrow gauge line is being converted into broad gauge line and realigned to serve the city of Naya Raipur as well. The main railway station Raipur Junction is situated near the heart of the city. There are 8 small railway stations for local/passenger trains in other parts of the city.

Airways:  Raipur has one domestic airport, Swami Vivekanand Airport which is being served by Air India, Jet Airways, Jetlite and IndiGo. Flights of all domestic destinations such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore etc. are available from this airport. The airport has seen a surge in traffic post after 2006 and presently connects Raipur to most of the major airports of India & operates 38 flights Daily. Raipur Airport is the second most busiest airport in central India after Nagpur. The venue of summit is about 16 km away from the airport. Cab service is available from the airport for all destinations across the city.

Please note that the documents required for visa application may vary from country to country. Please consult the Embassy of India in your country for information in detail. Most participants will apply for Summit Visa or Tourist Visa.

Tourist Visa on Arrival Scheme
Government of India has also launched Tourist Visa on arrival (TVOA) scheme for the following countries: Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Finland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia. The TVOA is allowed for a maximum validity of 30 days with single entry facility by the Immigration Officers at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata Airports on payment of a fee of US $ 60/- or equivalent amount in Indian rupees per passenger (including children). TVOA is allowed for a maximum of two times in a calendar year to a foreigner with a minimum gap of two months between two visits. TVOA shall be non-extendable and non-convertible. The foreigners of above mentioned countries may avail of TVOA for a period up to 30 days for tourism, medical treatment, casual business or to visit friends/relatives, etc. The TVOA facility is not applicable to the holders of Diplomatic/Official Passports. Further, TVOA shall not be granted to the foreigners who have permanent residence or occupation in India. Such persons can visit India on normal visa, as applicable. As visa requirements can take several weeks, attendees should be advised to apply no later than 2 months prior to the summit.

Chhattisgarh Live
Chhattisgarh is blessed with attractive natural diversity and rich cultural heritage. The green state of Chhattisgarh has 41.33% of the area covered with forests and one of the richest bio-diversity areas in the country. There are many ancient monuments, exquisitely carved temples, Buddhist sites to explore, rare wildlife, waterfalls, caves, rock paintings and hill plateaus. Some of the major tourist attractions are Chitrakoot and Tirathgarh waterfalls, Kailash Gufa, Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary and Kanger Ghati National Park . Most of these destinations are unexplored and untouched which offers a unique and alternate experience to the tourists, as compared to traditional destinations which have become overcrowded.

Raipur is the capital city and the administrative headquarter of the state Chhattisgarh ,India.It is fast growing capital with new malls being constructed all around the city with popular hangouts like Dominos,KFC,Indore Stadium,International Cricket Stadium,Café Coffee Day and PVR.There are hill resorts,waterfalls,caves to visit within 50-100kms around the city.With various religious places like Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Dudhadhari Montesary and Temple, Banjaari Mata Dham etc and Mahant Ghasidas Museum, Guru Tegh Bahadur Museum, Vivekananda Sarovar etc. are there for sightseeing.

Climate
Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh has a tropical wet and dry climate. Temperatures remain modest throughout the year except during the summer months which are typically hot and dry. The temperature can go up to as high as 48 °C during summer season. Monsoon season brings heavy rainfall (in the range of 1300 mm) to the region from June to October. Winter season is actually the best season to visit the city as temperatures range between a 13°C to 35°C. Winter lasts from November to January and is mild and pleasant. Winter nights can get cooler and can even reach a minimum temperature of 5 °C. Light woolen clothes and warm clothes can be carried while visiting Raipur during winter. The best time to visit the city is during the months of October to March.
