1. What is the Ph.D. (Practice Track) programme at IIM Raipur?

The Ph.D. (Practice Track) is a doctoral programme introduced from the academic year 2024–25, designed for working professionals with at least six years of managerial, entrepreneurial, or professional experience. It integrates practical knowledge with rigorous research to prepare candidates for academic and research career.

2. What is the duration of the programme?

The normal duration is four years, with a maximum of seven years permitted. After seven years, if requirements are not met, registration is terminated.

3.What is the structure of the programme?
  • Year 1: Coursework across three terms covering foundational, methodological, and area-specific courses.
  • Year 2 onwards: Thesis work under a Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC), with progress reports every six months.
  • A Comprehensive Qualifying Examination must be passed after coursework to continue in the programme.
4. What are the campus visit requirements?
  • First year: Two campus visits (10 and 12 days).
  • Second to fourth year: Minimum four days per quarter (may be reduced to one half-yearly visit with TAC approval).
