IIM Raipur offers the Ph.D. in Management (Practice Track), a doctoral programme designed for experienced working professionals who aspire to combine their industry expertise with rigorous academic research. The Inauguration for the PhD Batch 2025 was addressed by the chief guest Prof. Rudra Sensarma (Professor, IIM Kozhikode), who enlightened the new PhD cohort by helping them visualise the research journey that lies ahead.

The inaugural session was followed by an Orientation Week which offered a rich blend of topics, including the ethical use of technology in research, research resource toolkits, becoming an academician, lessons from the Fulbright experience on socially grounded research, understanding the ecosystem of research and publication, writing a research paper, and exploring context, relevance, and impact through a social lens in management research, alongside meaningful reflections on the PhD journey at IIM Raipur.

A research methodology workshop on the topic ‘Constructing Meaning: Applied Qualitative Data Analysis and Interpretation’ was conducted by Prof. Pradeep Kumar Hota (IIM, Udaipur). The session was aimed at enhancing the understanding of qualitative research methodologies, particularly focusing on data analysis and interpretation, which are crucial for building meaningful insights in research.

Prof. Pradeep Kumar Hota also demonstrated the use of applied tools and frameworks for organizing and analyzing qualitative data. The workshop was highly interactive, with participants engaging in hands-on exercises and discussions, which provided them with practical exposure to handling qualitative datasets.
