Admission Policy for 2026-28 Batch

The Master of Business Administration in Public Policy and Good Governance (MBA-PPG), offered by IIM Raipur under the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship (CMGGF) of Government of Chhattisgarh, is a flagship program designed to develop competent, ethical, and impact-oriented public leaders for the state and beyond. The program integrates rigorous management education with public policy analysis, governance frameworks, and field-based learning, enabling participants to address complex socio-economic and administrative challenges. Through close engagement with government departments, real-world policy projects, and mentorship by senior administrators and faculty members of IIM Raipur, the program aims to nurture professionals who can design, implement, and evaluate effective public policies while strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance. The program is exclusively designed for candidates who are domiciled in the state of Chhattisgarh.

Important Note: Before filling in the MBA-PPG application form, all candidates must read the admission policy applicable to the respective batch. It is the responsibility of the candidates to furnish all correct information at each stage of the admission process. All academic and personal credentials of all candidates may be verified at multiple stages. Incorrect or untrue information/declaration shall lead to disqualification from the admission process, even after the admission process has been completed.

IIM Raipur reserves the right to change or modify the existing admission policy, or to adopt a new admission policy or process, at any stage of the admission cycle, in order to comply with Government or Judicial requirements or as otherwise deemed necessary by IIM Raipur.

RESERVATION POLICY

The reservation policy as recommended and prescribed by the Government of Chhattisgarh shall be strictly applicable to the MBA–PPG program for the 2026–28 batch. The applicable reservation policy will be made available on IIM Raipur’s website.

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree/CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade point. For reserved category candidates, the same requirement is 55% or equivalent grade point. Professionals with work experience in public policy, administration, or social development are encouraged to apply.

CAT-RELATED ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates holding a valid CAT Score of the year 2023, 2024, or 2025 can apply for the MBA-PPG Batch 2026-28. Candidates are required to provide the highest CAT score if they have appeared in CAT more than once in the last three years.

SHORTLISTING OF CANDIDATES FOR THE PERSONAL INTERVIEW (PI)

A shortlist of candidates in each category, Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class-Non-Creamy Layer (NC-OBC) will be prepared based on the overall CAT cut-off percentile (including positive sectional percentiles) decided by IIM Raipur to participate in the Personal Interview (PI) process from the pool of applications received. The cutoff percentiles for different categories will be decided by IIM Raipur after the closing of the application process and announced in IIM Raipur website. The cut-off percentile for each category will depend on the number of candidates applied.

Candidates will be informed of the date, time, and venue of the PI through email. Candidates seeking reservation under the SC, ST, NC-OBC, and PwD categories must produce a valid category certificate issued by the competent authority of the State of Chhattisgarh, as per the prescribed format and validity period.

AGE LIMIT

Candidates with the maximum age of 35 years as on the prescribed application deadline can apply.

DOMICILE CERTIFICATE

Candidates must be domiciles of Chhattisgarh. All candidates must submit a copy of the domicile of Chhattisgarh certificate during the application process. Candidates must carry the original domicile certificate during the personal interview and document verification at a later stage.

DOCUMENTS TO PRODUCE DURING THE PERSONAL INTERVIEW PROCESS

Candidates must produce all original mark sheets, certificates, test scorecard, category certificate, and all other relevant documents mentioned in the application form for verification by the Admission Office and the interview panel members.

MERIT LIST PREPARATION

The following are the components of the final merit list:

The details of each component are given as follows:

  1. CAT Index Score: The scaled percentile from the three sections and the overall percentile with equal weights of CAT will be considered for the computation of the CAT Index Score.
  2. PI Score: The PI process will evaluate academic efforts and disposition, general awareness and social disposition, attitude, personality, communication, and the quality of work experience of the candidates. The PI scores will be normalized before giving appropriate weights.
  3. Academic Performance Score: Components of Academic Performance Score include percentage of marks obtained in SSC/Class X, HSC/Class XII/ Equivalent/Diploma, and Graduation.
    1. SSC/Class X Percentage Score: The percentage of marks obtained in SSC/Class X will be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all the subjects that appear in the marks/grade sheet, irrespective of whether the Board considers them for calculating the percentage. The SSC/Class X percentage scores will be calculated as per the table given below. The maximum score for this component is 10.
    2. HSC/Class XII Percentage Score: The percentage of marks obtained in HSC/Class XII/Equivalent/Diploma would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the marks/grade sheet, irrespective of whether the Board considers them for calculating the percentage. HSC/Class XII/ Equivalent/Diploma percentage scores will be calculated as per the table given below. The maximum score for this component is 10.
    3. Graduation Percentage Score: The percentage of marks obtained in graduation would be used to calculate graduation percentage score as per the table below. The maximum score for this component is 10.

Academic Performance Score evaluated on a total of 30 will be appropriately rescaled to use in the final merit list. The final category wise merit list out of a total of 100 marks will be prepared considering the CAT Index Score, PI Score, and Academic Performance Score.

ADMISSION OFFER

Provisional offer of admission to the MBA-PPG batch 2026-28 will be made strictly based on the final merit list prepared for each category following the applicable reservation policy of Government of Chhattisgarh. All selected candidates must produce original mark sheets, certificates, test scorecard, category certificate, and all other relevant documents mentioned in the application for the final verification once arriving to campus. Incorrect or untrue information/declaration shall lead to disqualification from the admission process, even after the admission process has been completed, or the admission offer has been made.

The publication of individual results through secure, candidate-specific login portals is a standard practice followed across all IIMs and is intended to uphold the principles of confidentiality, data protection, and privacy, in accordance with applicable laws and institutional norms. Each candidate can view their admission results on the admission portal by logging in securely using their individual credentials.

DISCLAIMER ON CANVASSING

Canvassing in any form during the admission process is strictly prohibited. Any attempt to influence the admission process, directly or indirectly, through personal communication, recommendations, or solicitation of support from officials, faculty members, staff, alumni, or any other stakeholders of the institute shall lead to immediate disqualification of the candidate from the admission process. The institute reserves the right to take appropriate action as deemed fit in such cases, without any further notice.

DISPUTE REDRESSAL AND JURISDICTION

On any disputes arising out of or regarding admission to the MBA-PPG program for the 2026-28 batch, the decision of the Director, IIM Raipur, or his nominee shall be final. Any legal dispute concerning admissions to the MBA-PPG program would be subject to the competent courts within the territorial jurisdiction of Raipur (Chhattisgarh) city only.
